Springfield 1st Allin Conversion trapdoor Rifle 58 Rimfire cal, Bore Exc, Mech Exc, Wood VG with ESA cartouche and is original wood that has been thinned down in the wrist area and around the receiver also shortened from the original 40” barrel to 26” . These were reconfigured by after market companies to make them look more appealing to customers. The lockplate has an 1865 date and has an excellent eagle and US Springfield Marking. These are rare to find in any condition , this one would make a shooter as it has an excellent bore and mechanics. Metal overall is clean with no pitting and has some parts polished.

Has a 35” heavy oct barrel 1 1/8" across the flats with original front sight rear sight may be an old replacement also has a couple extra dovetails. Has a back action lock with engraved game scene. Has a brass endcap ,cresent buttplate and toe plate. Metal overall has a dark brown patina finish. The only marking on the rifle is a faint mark on the barrel. Appears to have a chip repair to the wood in the nipple bolster area. Amazing this gun has no cracks in the wrist area as it is 13 pounds. Really a great rifle.
