The rework consists of scrubbing the French Markings and removing the sling swivels and stud.Some were stamped US and others not noted in Peter A Schmidts Book on US Military Flintlock Muskets the early years 1790-1815. Mech Exc, Wood VG but has a sliver missing on the right side ahead of the bottom band, Has a crack that fades out near the top barrel band on the right side. Has a original 42” Rd barrel with bayonet lug under, Has an old ramrod which appears to be a trumpet shape may be a Model 1842 musket ramrod. Has a 43” Oct barrel with original sights and decorative markings on both sides of the rear sight. Underside of the barrel is marked F.A Schneider. Looks like the first letter is not fully visible. Canton Township Stark County Ohio 1848-1857. Very unabused rifle in Atic condition. Has a brass crecent buttplate, 2 brass inlays along side of the left side sideplate. The stock has quite a drop to it and has a small cheek piece. 11 pounds really a nice rifle. The finish of the wood shows the age and condition.

This model was contracted by the Burnside Rifle Co. Was fitted with a Stabler cut off originally but now is missing. A lever that would control the rate of fire.

The pump attached to the stock portion which is the tank for the compressed air. The barrel action part tip unscrews and a brass tipped ramrod pulls out. A ball or bullet is pushed down the barrel. A large key fits into the side of the breech area and a button pops out which is the trigger. The barrel and tank are screwed together. The barrel small sights which you aim down and press the button to fire . Brass fittings with iron barrel and stock portion. The barrel unscrews and pulls out for cleaning. English Quality made. Overall has a black paint type finish. The box is felt lined with compartments for the parts. Has a Key and Brass bullet mold which looks to be for a larger caliber.

Colt Model 1877 Colt Thunderer 41 cal Bore Exc, Mech Exc , Original rosewood checkered grips near Exc, Has a 2 ½” Rd barrel with 2 line colt address markings and Colt DA 41 Etched marking on the left side of the barrel. The frame has the 3 line patent date markings. The triggerguard has the 41 cal marking on the left side rear. Serial#26788 matching mfg’d 1880. Metal overall has traces of fine pitting with the bbl, triggerguard, cylinder and backstrap having a fading to 30% original blue finish bright in protected areas. The frame has considerable traces of case coloring. Nice clean original early colt thunderer.

The barrel has the Colt DA 41 cal marking on the left side. The frame has the horse in a circle marking on the left rear. Serial #32214 Has long cylinder flutes with locking slots on the back of the cylinder. Metal overall has 75% original finish mostly bright.
